Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take to get organized?

Each organizing project is different and depends on what you want to accomplish.  The length of the project depends primarily on the size of your home or office, the amount of clutter that has built up and how quickly you can make decisions.  Do you want to address a small area for a quick fix or do you want to attack the whole house for long-term change?  In order to get the most out of our sessions together, it is wise to schedule them for a time of day when you feel most productive with as few interruptions as possible.

Are you going to make me throw everything away?

I will not make you do anything you are not comfortable with- you are the ultimate decision maker.  Organizing is not about getting rid of all your belongings, but more about keeping the items you love and having easy access to what you need.

Is this the worst mess you've ever seen?

Everyone thinks that their space is the worst.  I want to help you simplify your life- I will never judge you.  Where you see chaos, I see an opportunity for calm!  I respect your privacy and I abide by the code of ethics and confidentiality set forth by the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO). Nothing we do and speak about during our sessions will be repeated outside of your space.

Do I have to be there with you or can you just organize while I do other things?

You definitely have to be with me during the organizing process as I will be teaching you skills to help you stay organized.  I cannot make decisions about what is important to you.
